Please note that Project Access is not the appropriate program for every candidate. If you are in need of immediate medical attention and do not have an established physician office to work with, please seek assistance at an urgent care or emergency room.

To qualify for Project Access you must be:

• Between 18 and 64 years of age
• A resident of Kent County
• Ineligible for Medicaid, Medicare, Kent Health Plan or other insurance (including that which may be offered by your employer).
• Applying to Project Access only. (If applying to other programs please wait until a denial letter is received before applying to Project Access.)

There are other guidelines which will be covered with you over the phone.

To Apply for Project Access:

Project Access screening is a three step process that may take up to three work weeks depending on the client's ability to provide evidence of the above criteria:

1. Phone interview
2. In-person interview lasting 60 minutes for mentoring and documentation; proof of income, residency, etc.
3. Coordination with your own doctor.

Please note that the availability of volunteer physicians changes through the year. If Project Access does not currently have a particular specialist, you may be referred to another program or given assistance on how to find another way to get the medical care you need.

Contact the Project Access office at 459-1111 and follow the prompts. (You will be instructed to leave your name, phone number and the best time to reach you. Due to the high volume of calls our screeners have asked for one week to return your call). If you are eligible, Project Access could arrange for medical appointments and possibly refer you to discount prescriptions programs. We do not provide financial assistance for medical and other bills.

Please note that we do not accept walk-ins and applicant screenings are held by appointments only. No clinical care is provided at our administrative office.
